我上所有电信网站都是慢的要死，FTP也不快。
反倒是国外网站下载和网通比较快！

I can't open the atlas of renal patholgy.pdb file suffixed by pdb,which I just downloaded from the pasted link upstairs.What's kind of this file?Just baidu it ,I found pdb files appeared most likely in mobile PDA.I downloaded some popular PDB readers,they can't open this,just too large size to open,even computermemory and disk can't contain more volume of tmp file in the process of the file opening.Could anybody solve the problem?

A software named iSilo v4.32 can open pdb files.
You can search the web and download iSilo v4.32, then install it on your PC.

The sixth edition of Heptinstall's Pathology of the Kidney is edited by 4 outstanding renal pathologists with 33 additional contributing authors of similar caliber. This edition marks the 40th anniversary of the publication of the first edition of Pathology of the Kidney by Dr Robert H. Heptinstall in 1966, and updates the recent advances in understanding of medical renal disease and transplant pathology since publication of the fifth edition.

This 2-volume text includes 29 chapters, 18 in volume I and 11 in volume II. Volume I covers glomerular diseases; primary and secondary, and also hereditary disorders; whereas volume II concentrates on vascular, tubulointerstitial, developmental disorders, and renal neoplasia.

Volume I begins with a chapter on renal anatomy and histology; however, this chapter takes us well beyond the microscope with excellent discussion and illustration of all renal compartments at an ultrastructural and molecular level. The chapter is nicely illustrated with exceptionally high quality photomicrographs, diagrams, and tables. It sets the bar for the remaining chapters, and provides an easy transition into the second chapter, which nicely discusses all aspects of renal development. The third chapter introduces the reader, who now has a solid foundation in normal structure; to diagnostic renal pathology using a compartment-based approach and provides useful tables of definitions and differential diagnostic considerations when faced with a particular pattern of injury. Each of the next 5 chapters is dedicated to a distinct glomerular disease with the introduction of HIV-associated disease in chapter 9. The remaining chapters in volume I introduce and discuss systemic diseases that are associated with glomerular diseases such as Henoch-Schonlein Purpura, systemic lupus erythematosus, vasculitis, thrombotic microangiopathy, pregnancy, and diabetes mellitus. The chapters are reasonably grouped; for instance the chapter on antiglomerular basement membrane antibody mediated disease is followed by pauci-immune crescentic glomerulonephritis and polyarteritis nodosa. The chapter on thrombotic microangiopathy is followed by one covering renal disease in pregnancy; both of which may cause a similar pattern of glomerular injury.

Volume II likewise groups chapters in a reasonable manner and begins with paraprotein-associated renal diseases and those characterized by organized deposits. Hypertension garners a dedicated chapter and is followed by 2 chapters on inflammatory tubulointerstitial diseases, and a chapter reviewing ischemic and toxic tubular injury. End-stage kidney disease and its complications are logically followed by a chapter on transplant pathology. The final chapter on renal neoplasms was intentionally not included by Dr Heptinstall in the first edition; however, although one could argue the point, it is important for nephropathologists to at least be aware of the more common pediatric and adult renal neoplasms. This final chapter does an admirable job of providing a concise overview of renal neoplasms; however, it was not intended to be the definitive source.

My only, minor criticism is that as you page through the text before going to the index or table of contents, some of the short-titles used at the page top are abbreviated and do not adequately reflect the contents of the chapter. For instance, the shortened title for both chapter 12 on systemic lupus erythematosus and connective tissue disorders, and chapter 19 on paraprotein associated renal diseases, are renal disease and renal diseases respectively; and the short title for chapter 15 is renal involvement. This is most likely an oversight that in no way detracts from the overall excellent quality of this book.

Overall this text is a comprehensive and valuable resource, and should reside within arms reach of every practicing renal pathologist and renal pathologist in-training.
